In many instances, the distribution of competency rankings will be varied enough that a final decision on required core competencies should not be arrived at using the DNA Surveys Hierarchy of Competencies alone.
A facilitated workshop, that includes all DNA Survey participants, is recommended. The goal of the Workshop is to arrive at a consensus by discussing the relative importance of each of the very important competencies that were identified.
This consensus is important not only for the ultimate definition of the positions requirements, but also for the success of the new employee. It would not be fair to have him/her judged against different standards, depending on the supervisor.
